Enrollment

Enrollment is bringing people together to assist you in achieving your goals.

Have you ever thought of bringing someone on-board to help you achieve your goals? Enrollment helps you in a few ways.

First, telling your goal to someone helps you visualize your path and helps you structure how you are going to do it.  Though it is good to tell a person about your goal, it may not be good to tell many people, or blasting it out on social media.  There is research that says telling someone your goal will even make you less likely to do it.

However, if you are able to enroll people into your vision, your results can be exponential. Here is an example:

Goal – I want to run a 5k this year.

  • Do – Reach out to your friend who regularly runs a 5K and ask her preparation tips.  Ask her what kind of shoes and equipment are required and where she finds the local 5Ks in her area.  Invite her to join the 5K you are planning to attend, once you have prepared properly.  Also, be sure to gauge her interest in your goal, meaning if she’s not interested, she’s not enrolled.
  • Don’t- Blast your goals on social media or not have steps, or a plan of action in place when enrolling someone.  Also, if someone is not interested in your goal, don’t be pushy.  Find someone who would more likely be interested in helping you.

Enrolling people is not just merely telling someone what you are going to do, enrolling is describing the steps of action you’re going to take in order to achieve your goal, and then they join you because they believe in you so much.

Next, enrolling helps when you need support. With every accomplishment, there are down times or times when you don’t feel like it, or even times when you want to quit your goal.  This is the best time to reach out to your support. Ask them what they would do in your situation and the best way to overcome the obstacle.

Having others jump on your idea makes your results exponentially grow. Let’s say your goal was to help a charity by donating your time. One person can make a difference but many people can make an even larger impact.

Lastly, not everyone is going to want to enroll in your goal so don’t be pushy.  However, the more passionate and realistic you are about obtaining your goal, the more likely someone will be willing to help you achieve it.

Becoming the CEO of Yourself

In 2019 being an entrepreneur is huge, it’s all the rage right now. Everyone wants to start their own thing, be their own boss, and make their own hours.

However, the first part in being your own boss is being able to manage your own time.

I love time and I would say in some aspects, I am obsessed with it!  A common misconception about time though is the belief that it is an unlimited resource.  Many people walk through life knowing our time is limited however we sometimes act like we have all the time in the world.

What I mean by that is many people understand that they are going to die, they just don’t believe it will be today!  The result is people don’t manage time efficiently and let TV or Social Media get the best of them.

Keep in mind time does not equal money.  Time is far more valuable than money, and here are a few reasons why:

  1. Money can be replaced, time cannot.
  2. You can’t buy more time, just ask any dying billionaire.
  3. You can’t get back the time you’ve already spent.

Many of the CEO’s that I’ve come across have always had to maximize their day by scheduling things out.  If you feel like there is not enough hours in the day, one of the best ways to get the most out of it is to create a daily schedule.  You’ll find that if you stick to a timeline, you’ll be able to accomplish far more than if you leave it when you feel like it.

Here are a couple of tips to being the CEO of your life:

  1.  Don’t try to accomplish too much, start by doing small tasks in the morning like making your bed and maybe doing some short exercises.
  2. Try to accomplish one major daily goal and three sub goals in the day.
  3. Schedule Breaks in your day, including eating, exercising, and social time.
  4. Research has show that if you do one task for too long, you’ll become less and less efficient at it.  Give yourself no more than 50 minutes per task, but you must be laser focused for that time.
  5. When you break, leave your work completely and make breaks no longer than 10 minutes.
  6. Schedule down time and free time.
  7. Are there any tasks you can complete together? For example I love listening to my book on tape while I do laundry, and I love watching my favorite TV show while I eat.
  8. Be strict with yourself by writing it down on paper or in a daily journal, the most important part is to stay on schedule.
  9. Alternate between sedentary and active activities. For example after I sleep, I exercise or if I’m seated for a long time I’ll schedule chores like washing and cleaning.
  10. Do not sacrifice sleep, getting around 8 hours of sleep is extremely important to long term health.

This is not for everyone, however if you are looking to accomplish more in your day and take control of your time, you’ll want to know how to properly manage your time.  If you want large scale responsibility jobs, start by managing your own time first.

Bookmarks

During November class, we did an exercise where everyone wrote 10 positive and truthful words about each person in the class.  These words were then printed on bookmarks and during the December class were passed out to each person that attended. Here is what they look like below:

If you came to November class and didn’t get your bookmark yet (you missed December’s class), come back to any MMLA class during 2019 and you’ll receive your bookmark!

This year we revamped Making My Life Amazing and it has been incredible! If you enjoyed the above topics and would like to join a class, please contact us at one of the events listed here: http://iam50million.com/events/
